Un jour en France

Visiting this lavender-hued shop off Mariahilferstrasse is like taking a mini-trip to France. It sells dry goods such as crepe mixes, jams, canned goods such as terrines and foie gras, mustards, oils, and sweets such as macarons and candies. There is a second room in the back dedicated to French wines, and when I visited the proprietor had out an assortment of breads and jams to try with the wine. Also a fun option is the absinthe gift box, complete with an old-fashioned absinthe spoon. The proprietor is very friendly and speaks English. He was also child-friendly: he was not dismayed at the sight of my two toddlers walking around his shop, and gave them little candies on our way out.
